Welcome to the Frederick Business Tap Out Challenge

Thanks for visiting our site! We appreciate your interest and think that this will be a great opportunity for all of us. Be sure to watch the video and then read further down the blog for more information.

What is the Challenge?

This is a challenge issued to local Frederick businesses that will simply stir up some good fun, camaraderie  and publicity for us all.  The challenge is that 1 selected representative from 10 different local Frederick businesses will spend 8 weeks training at the Clinch Academy in Submission Grappling to face off in a Submission Grappling match held in Baker Park. There will be 2 teams lead by 2 team captains from the Clinch Academy. The teams will meet separately for 1 two hour session each week for 8 weeks. Each team will have 5 competitors from various local businesses that will compete against each other at the end of the 8 weeks of training.  The 2 team captains from the Clinch Academy will also face off on competition day. The winning team will be the team who won the highest number of matches out of the 6 total challenge matches.

What is Submission Grappling?

A Submission Grappling match is like wrestling match only instead of trying to pin your opponent you are trying to catch them in a submission hold such as an arm lock, choke hold, leg lock, etc...forcing them to tap out and give up. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is one of the fastest growing sports in the world right now and the Clinch Academy is a Mixed Martial Arts Academy. Submission Grappling is one of the main ingredients that make up MMA but when seperated out as it's own sport, submission grappling is a much safer sport to compete in. Even as a beginner with no knowledge submission grappling is very safe when practiced properly. The reason why I chose this to be a Submission Grappling competition is that it allows for the participants to experience part of one of the fastest growing sports in the world and still compete safely.  Here is an example of what a submission grappling match looks like.

How does this benefit your business?

There are so many ways that this will benefit your business!

1st--During the 8 weeks of training your representatives will be filmed. Each week of training there will be one video aired on this website. All the followers of your business as well as 10 other businesses will want to watch and support the representatives from your business. Who wouldn't want to watch local businesses compete in submission grappling? Each business owner will have one 2 minute on-line video interview and each representative will have one 5 minute on-line video interview/training session aired and all participating businesses will be mentioned in every video. Your business name will appear when your representative is interviewed. Your representative can also wear a T-shirt with your logo on it as they train and compete for all to see.

2nd--Our goal would also be to get this event advertised and covered in the Frederick News Post or any other media willing to do a story.

3rd--Competition Day will be an event held in Baker Park on Saturday, July 16th from 10 am-12 noon where tons of supporters can come and watch our businesses face off!

4th--MMA is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. To have local businesses participate in such a popular yet unique event would bring new attention to your business. Healthy competition always brings people together and stirs up a lot of excitement. To have your business to be a part of it would benefit you greatly.

5th-- Each business represented in the winning team will receive a Frederick Business Tap Out Challenge plaque which can be displayed at your place of business.

6th-- This is bound to build camaraderie between the employees within your business. It's fun, exciting and your employees will be glad that you are a part of it. It will give them something to talk about with their friends and family concerning your place of business.

7th-- I could just go on and I am sure you are getting the picture at this point. There are many great ways that this event can benefit your business.
